Welcome to Monday Morning Mindfulness . . . to my clients, colleagues and friends. Join me every other Monday in getting motivated and inspired to act/think/feel differently.

1. ON SPECIAL OFFERS AND INVITATIONS

A special gift for MMM subscribers - to promote our businesses we entrepreneurs have to "sell" ourselves, not just our services, products, and expertise. One of the best and least expensive ways of doing so is by giving a speech. Listen to my audio on "How to Use Speaking to Market Your Business" you only pay for the long distance call to hear this 50 minute program. Go to: http://www.passionforbusiness.com/sandra-schrift.htm Thanks to Karyn Greenstreet, www.passionforbusiness.com for making this possible.

Would you like some help from me on how to write and give a compelling speech, promote yourself and your products, and find your target market(s)?

Many of you have asked me to provide a 4 week teleclass series to address these areas. So I created a program called: "How to Kraft a Killer Keynote," and "How to Market Yourself."

We kick off on Wednesday, March 22 and are limited to 12 participants. I owned a speakers bureau for 13 years and will now share the "secrets" I learned from the Pros. For details, click here. This teleclass series will fill quickly. So contact me today and reserve your seat!

"I personally think you were terrific! So much great information and practical advice. . I, too, was motivated to take action. So, thanks for sharing your wisdom."
Phyllis Sisenwine, MCC/ Business Coach

Let me help you get to the next level. Contact me by email: Sandra@schrift.com . Don't be left out! Only 12 people will be accepted for this program... Let's begin.

Would you like to be a paid speaker? Learn how to connect with your audience? Persuade people to act on what you say? You can get answers to these questions and more at: Approach the Coach. Go to http://www.schrift.com/approach and ask me your number-one question about speaking skills or speaking professionally. I will answer your questions by email within 48 hours.

2. ON A SIMPLE ACT

Think about someone you don't know, don't like, or whose manner of living is a mystery to you. What would it take to begin a conversation? I usually find that great healing is available when I listen to the other and also feel heard. No matter what I have experienced in life, when I tell my story to someone who listens, I find it easier to deal with my circumstances. Listening creates our relationship. Listening moves us closer. Even crabby, self-indulged Lucy, from the 'Peanuts' comic strip knew the importance of listening. She started the famous 'Psychiatry Booth' where any and all could come and be heard. After all . . . listening is such a simple act.

The Coach asks . . . are you cultivating a willingness to listen?

3. ON THE SCREEN

Kevin Roberts, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, reminds us that the Dominant Interface of the future is the screen. The family of screens includes: TV, mobile devices, computers, and big Times Square billboards - all engaging us, the consumers. No one medium will replace the other. When people are in front of a screen, they lean back or lean forward. The key is to engage the consumers emotionally. So if you tell them a story, they will lean in and get involved. ( professional speakers know this is key) Steve Jobs understands that the MP3 player does what the iPod does. Aren't his products irresistible? You're engaged, so it doesn't matter that "the batteries still don't work."

The Coach thinks . . ."Nike should always be 'Just do it,' no matter the medium."

4. ON HALLMARK

The Hallmark tag line, "When you care enough to send the very best," appeals to the human desire to be viewed as having good taste and an appreciation for luxury. Karen Saunders says, "If greeting cards are a commodity, then Hallmark has found a way to differentiate itself as the choice for quality The Hallmark company was founded by J. C. Hall, so the name Hallmark was a natural. Hallmarks have been used for centuries as a stamp to denote quality, purity, and genuineness. Could there be a better way to attach the image of quality to a product? The tag line capitalizes on that image well with words that stick in the mind and exemplify good taste."

The Coach asks . . . have you created a distinctive logo or tag line that leaves customers thinking only of you?

5. ON A RECIPE FOR LOVE

This is too special not to pass on. A poem written by the eight-year old son of Coach Laura Forman Bertang.

Skyler's Recipe for Love

  • 1/2 cup of kisses
  • 1 cup of holding hands
  • 2 1/2 cups of special talks
  • 1 1/2 tsp. of snuggles
  • 1 1/2 tsp. of happiness
  • 2 1/2 tbsp. of smiles
  1. Wipe away fears and tears
  2. Mix ingredients with care
  3. Bake at 98.6 degrees for the time it takes to read a bedtime story
  4. Serve and enjoy Skyler's love

The Coach sez . . . add this to your recipes and serve often.
