2. ON FABRENGEN
______________________________________________________

In Yiddish, the word farbrengen means ‘spending time together.’ It has come to describe an earnest and brotherly gathering of people, punctuated by song and talk. The farbrengen is where the paradoxes of spiritual and physical, human and G-dly, are processed into a tenable reality. I think we could all benefit from an informal way to communicate our ideals and explore their practical application. Love of another. Helping one another. Friendship. Brotherhood. Warmth. The buzzwords of farbrengen.

The Coach asks . . . is it time to spread a little “farbrengen” around our world?

3. ON 5 LITTLE SNIPPETS

Here are 5 little snippets of wisdom to carry into 2010. They’re from the collection by Founder of the modern Coaching movement, Thomas Leonard and his R&D Team. (this is the anniversary month of “T’s” passing.) We hope they’ll kick off your year with some new insights. (courtesy Coach Andrea Lee)

  • People want to be loved, appreciated and carried gently in the hearts of others, even if they deny it.
  • People express love when they feel safe.
  • People enjoy learning except when there is a test.
  • People extend their boundaries when they understand the limitations that are within them.
  • People judge themselves too harshly.

The Coach thinks . . . we often look for what we don’t have and seldom appreciate(enough) what we do have.

4. ON AN “A” SPEAKER ______________________________________________________

Since 1982, I have been working with professional speakers and business professionals who make presentations to audiences nationally and internationally. The following are some special traits of an “A” grade speaker.

  • Every day they have something magnificent to do.
  • They are passionate because they believe what they have to say is significant.
  • They care about their audiences.
  • They further their success with great products.
  • They have “savoir-faire.”
